15 Ways to Feel More Peaceful

10

FriYAY is here once again, Besties!  I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead and find lots of time to rest, recharge, and spend time with those you love.  I definitely try to get some self care in every day, but the weekend truly does lend itself to a slowing down and treating ourselves a bit more.
The weekend is also the time I plan my self care for the following week.  I know that sounds super geeky and the opposite of relaxed, but self care, like anything else we want to prioritize, needs to be scheduled in order to ensure that it happens.  I’ve been using my printable weekly self care planner, and not to toot my own horn, but it’s pretty rad.  If you want to join me in prioritizing your self care each week, simply subscribe in the sidebar under my Insta feed and your free planner will be delivered to your inbox!
When you’ve got your pretty planner all printed – say that five times fast 😉 –  you may need some help filling it in.  Often people struggle to come up with different ways to practice self care.  If that’s the case, today I’ve got 15 ways for you to feel more peaceful…aka 15 ways to practice self care and melt your stress away.  If you have any other ideas, please help your Besties out and share in the comments!
1. Savor a hot cup of tea – chamomile tea is especially soothing if you’re stressed, and peppermint tea promotes emotional wellness. You can learn more about finding the perfect tea for any mood here.
2. Diffuse some essential oils – especially frankincense, lavender, sandalwood, orange, and bergamot.
3. Exercise – even just a few minutes can give you those coveted endorphins.  If you’re looking for a short yet effective workout, look no further.
4. Pray.
5.  Do some journaling.  Not sure where to start?  Try this.
6. Bubble bath.  Add soothing music, a candle, or listen to a meditation for added peace.
7. Go outside.  Marvel.  Be still.
9. Make a gratitude list.  Most clinicians regard gratitude as an antidote for anxiety.
10. Laugh.  Watch or listen to something funny.  This movie or this one crack me up every single time.
11. Smile – this takes no time at all and therapists actually recommend it to immediately feel calmer and more relaxed.  Try it!
12. Go for a walk or hike.
13. Dance – sometimes you just gotta get your stress out on the dance floor – or your living room floor, for that matter.  If you need some tunes inspo, here you go.
14. Read – I just finished “Present Over Perfect” and I highly recommend it, but any book that you’re into will do!
15. Meditate.
