There’s nothing like a board game to bring friends and family together and help the whole crew have a good time. Playing is something that adults spend far too little time doing. Most adults probably can’t remember the last time they played a board game – but games are so much fun and they really allow us to stay in the moment and be a kid again.
Today’s Bestie finds are games you can play with family or friends to help you
beat boredom, overcome your adulting, and let loose a bit. Playing is something kids do so naturally, but we adults have to work a little harder to ensure we keep that inner kid happy. Here are some games I have been loving lately…tell us your faves in the comments!
Watch Ya’ Mouth (family edition) – This hilarious game divides players into teams, forces them to wear mouthguards and attempt to read and interpret phrases. The possibilities for laughter is endless…as well as photo ops!
The Game of Things – This is one of my all time fave games. It’s always fun, always different, and I always end up laughing so hard my face hurts. Great if you’re not competitive but just love to have a good time. A must play!
Sushi Go! – Earn points by picking winning sushi combos in this super fun, best-selling strategy game. This game also enhances visual discrimination and strategic thinking skills. It may or may not also cause sashimi cravings.
Settlers of Catan – This game is super popular for good reason. Consider it the Oregon Trail of the modern era, if you will. One reviewer warns:
BEWARE! Only play this game if you want your life to be changed forever!
Plywood Playing Cards – I couldn’t write a post on games without including cards. I love playing with my family, especially hearts and euchre. Great for travel or camping, these cards can interlock and keep your hand organized no matter where you are!
