10 Inspirational Books To Encourage And Motivate You in 2018

28

The New Year is a time for many people to reflect on goals, ambitions, and changes they would like to make in this next chunk of life.  Have you started thinking about what you want your 2018 to be about?  I really want to continue to focus on gratitude and mindfulness.   And of course, SELF CARE!   To me, this is the perfect time to make a list of inspirational books I want to read in the year ahead.
No matter what you want your focus to be, I’m sharing a list of ten  inspirational books that will no doubt encourage and motivate you in the coming year.  From getting a handle on your emotions, to celebrating who you are, to seeing more of this big, beautiful world, I’ve got you covered!

31 Days To Managing Your Moods –  Over the course of 31 days you can develop the exact skills and habits you need to stop obsessing over what doesn’t matter, and start living in the joy that comes from a healthy mindset.  I wrote this book to encourage and empower you to finally start loving the life you are living.  And I hope you love it! 🙂
Love Does –   This book is one of the most inspiring and uplifting books I have ever read.  Bob Goff is as genuine as they come and you will be changed by this book, no doubt about it.  My favorite quote from it is:  “Living a life fully engaged and full of whimsy and the kind of things that love does is something most people plan to do, but along the way they just kind of forget their dreams and become one of those ‘we’ll go there’ next time deferrals.  The sad thing is, for many there is no ‘next time’ because passing on the chance to cross over is an overall attitude toward life rather than a single decision.  They need a change of attitude, not more opportunities.”  Boom.  Buy this book.
Braving The Wilderness –   Oh, Brene Brown, how I heart your books!  Her newest book, all about belonging does not disappoint.  “True belonging doesn’t require us to change who we are.  It requires us to BE who we are.”  I love that.  This book is for you if you’re ready to be bravely who you are without apologizing for it.
Hallelujah Anyway –  Anne Lamott is another of my favorite authors.  #fangirl.  Her latest book, Hallelujah Anyway is subtitled “Rediscovering Mercy.”  Lamott defines mercy as radical kindness, something the world needs more of, in my humble opinion.  This book is honestly a ray of light and hope in a world that feels pretty dark at times.  I’ll take it!
200 Women –   2017 was all about GIRL POWER, and while I by no means consider myself a feminist (I prefer humanist 😉 ) I am all about this sisterhood and empowering womankind movement.  In this beautiful collection, 200 women are asked the same 5 questions about life, love, and lessons learned.  This book is perfect for inspiring you and also makes a great gift.

The Wisdom of Sundays – Who better than Oprah to curate a soulful collection of spiritual wisdom than the queen of Super Soul Sunday herself?  Oprah says, “If you want to be more fully present and live your life with a wide-open heart, this is the place to come to.”  Yes, please.
Eat Beautiful –   Care for your body from the inside out with this cookbook that highlights ingredients and recipes designed to make your skin glow.  Healthy foods make you shine, Besties, but they can also taste good.  I love the photos and inspiration on each page!

The Little Book of Life Hacks –   Author, illustrator, and comic book artist Yumi Sakugawa shares a wide range of useful and unexpected tips for looking and feeling better, streamlining and improving your home life, and creating fun and artsy DIY projects that can brighten your living space.  And be honest…who doesn’t love life hacks?  😉
Make Yourself At Home –   Part self-help, part memoir, part decor inspiration, fans of Moorea Seal will love this book for its warm voice and candid explanation of what it means to create a comfortable home.  If you are obsessed with hygge (like me!), this book can show you exactly how to achieve the balance of comfort and organization common to they most hyggelig of homes.  Sign up for my FREE webinar on all things hygge to learn more fun ways to add comfort and coziness to your life!
The Best Things in Life Are Free –  This book from Lonely Planet is packed full of money-saving tips, tricks, and recommendations from the best-value sights and experiences around the world.  If you love traveling as much as I do, this book is a must!  The only thing better than traveling is traveling for FREE…or pretty darn close.
What are your favorite inspirational books, my friends?  Do tell us in the comments!!  Best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year, my dears.  I’m so very thankful you have spent this year following along with me.  2018, here we come!!
