If there’s one thing this world can always use more of, it’s kindness.  I love posting about random acts of kindness, and I firmly believe any act of kindness is an amazing form of self care!  There’s something about serving others that always seems to give us more than we give them.  In fact, volunteering is the number one coping skill I recommend to clients because of its many mental health benefits.
Some days it’s easier to practice kindness than others.  Personally, if I’m tired or stressed, or ahem, haven’t been practicing much self care, my go to response to my family, acquaintances, or even myself can be less than kind.  Some days we need a little reminder that kindness is something to be mindful of, to be practiced even when we don’t feel like it, even when others aren’t kind to us.  We don’t have to be doormats, but being kind doesn’t make us so.  We can be kind and still say “no, no thank you,” or “not today.” But kindness is something we will never regret.
So today I’ve rounded up 10 quotes to inspire us to kindness, no matter what type of day we’re having or what lies ahead.  I hope you enjoy them!  Here’s to making this world a kinder place!
“Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.”

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.  Without them humanity cannot survive.”  – Dalai Lama

“Compassion without action is just observation.”

“Go and love someone exactly as they are.  And then watch how quickly they transform into the greatest, truest version of themselves.  When one feels seen and appreciated in their own essence, one is instantly empowered.”  – Wes Angelozzi

“When you can’t look on the bright side, I will sit with you in the dark.”

“Why did you do all this for me?” he asked.  “I don’t deserve it.  I’ve never done anything for you.”
“You have been my friend,” replied Charlotte.  “That in itself is a tremendous thing.”  – E.B. White, Charlotte’s Web

“There are three ways to ultimate success:  The first way is to be kind.  The second way is to be kind.  The third way is to be kind.”  – Fred Rogers

“We rise by lifting others.” – Robert Ingersol

“No act of kindness is ever wasted.” – Aesop

“Always be a little kinder than necessary.” – J.M. Barrie
