Well, hello my Besties!  Is anyone else going a bit cuckoo with the whirl of back to school?  No lie, I’ve been up since 3:45 am because there is just so. much. going. on.  Today was my older son’s first day back and I’m just hoping he got a better night’s sleep than his mama!  One thing is for sure:  I’ll be indulging in a self care nap this afternoon!
With all the craziness of summer ending (sniff!) and the new school year beginning (hooray!), I’m always afraid I’m going to forget something, miss an important date, or just somehow fall flat on my face when it comes to keeping track of everyone’s schedules and routines.  I should probably take my own advice, I know.
In the spirit of back to school self care and organization, I’m so excited to share some tips about how to get started with bullet journaling today.  I started using a bullet journal last summer, and it’s definitely my favorite way to kill two self care birds with one stone:  staying organized and being creative!  Essentially, a bullet journal is just a planner that you make yourself.  You get to set up each page exactly how you want it and record everything you want to remember in one pretty place.
I know bullet journaling may not be everyone’s jam…some people might be all, “why would I make my own planner when they sell perfectly good ones at Staples?”  or “ain’t nobody got time for that.”  And that is totally fine.  As with everything I share here, take what works for you and leave the rest.  But if you’re looking for a fun way to practice creativity and organize your life, here are some awesome how-to’s and inspiration to help you get your Bujo on!

Hopefully, that’s enough to get you started without overwhelming you.  If you’re looking for more bullet journal inspo, there are tons of talented journalers with amazing Instagram accounts.  My faves are creative.pine.apple, bujo_blossoms, and procrastinate_create.

So what do you think?  Are you going to give bullet journaling a try?  Are you a seasoned pro?  I’m definitely planning on getting back into it soon…you see what I did there?  Sorry, Besties…the quality of my jokes is apparently proportional to the amount of sleep I got.  #whomp
Have an amazing day, my friends!
